JetEsim
How we resolved technical SEO issues, built out a 40+ page country and region content architecture, cleaned up a weak backlink profile, and strengthened homepage trust signals — raising the Semrush Site Health Score from 95 to 98 for a global travel eSIM app.
Visit WebsiteChallenges Faced
JetEsim's marketing site was carrying recurring technical SEO issues, an indexable billing/WHMCS folder wasting crawl budget, no dedicated landing pages for the countries and regions travelers actually search for, and a backlink profile riddled with dead links — all limiting the site's ability to rank and convert.
Broken Links Dragging Down Site Health
SEMrush flagged broken internal links and external resources returning 403 status codes, along with a billing/WHMCS folder that was fully crawlable and indexable — holding the Site Health Score at 95 and wasting crawl budget on pages that should never rank.
No Country or Region Landing Pages
Travelers search by destination, but JetEsim had no dedicated pages for individual countries or regions and no central directory to organize them — meaning the site had almost no way to capture destination-specific search demand.
Weak, Unstable Backlink Profile
An audit of 38 guest post and PBN links turned up a 92% drop rate — 35 links had already been deleted or were returning 404s — while a further 10 Web 2.0/secondary-tier links sat live but unindexed, doing little to pass authority.
Thin Trust Signals & Slow Pages
The homepage had no social proof or press mentions above the fold, and page speed testing showed clear room for improvement — both working against conversion once traffic did arrive.
Our Strategy
A phased approach — fix the technical foundation, scale destination-specific content, clean up off-page authority, then optimize the homepage for trust and speed.
-
Ran recurring Semrush technical audits to catalogue and track every fixable issue over time
-
Resolved broken internal links and external resources returning 403 status codes
-
Applied noindex to the billing/WHMCS folder via a hook so the directive survives platform and theme updates, then allowed it in robots.txt so Google can crawl, confirm, and drop it from the index
-
Site Health Score climbed from 95 to 98, with recurring fixable issues resolved on each crawl
-
Built a central eSIM parent page with a dynamic grid that automatically surfaces every child country page, complete with flag imagery and country-specific titles
-
Researched, wrote, and published 40+ country-specific eSIM landing pages with unique SEO-focused content and metadata, from the USA and Canada to Indonesia, Norway, and the Maldives
-
Created regional hub pages covering Africa, Africa Safari, Asia, the Middle East, North America, Oceania, and South America to capture broader destination searches
-
Updated internal linking across all 30 existing blog posts and added a consistent CTA to the end of every country page
-
Audited 38 guest post and PBN backlinks, identifying a 92% drop/404 rate and flagging the provider's link-placement practices for replacement
-
Reviewed 10 Web 2.0 and secondary-tier links across GitHub Wiki, WordPress, HackMD, and Pad, and pushed them through indexing channels to pass authority
-
Tracked and corrected sitemap indexing status in Google Search Console, submitting new and previously unindexed URLs for indexing on an ongoing basis
-
Corrected the uncategorized category URL and resubmitted the updated sitemap in GSC
-
Added a "Loved by Travelers Worldwide" social proof section showing live TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook follower counts
-
Added an "As Seen On" media bar featuring USA Today, StreetInsider, Barchart, and AP in a responsive marquee layout
-
Refreshed the USPs section directly below the hero with a cleaner, more modern layout
-
Ran before/after PageSpeed Insights testing on mobile to guide and verify speed optimization work
