Technical SEO & Page Speed Optimization Success Story

AVPTS

How our Semrush audit fixing, technical SEO fixes, and site audit resolution transformed AVPTS — lifting SiteChecker health from 40 to 97, mobile PageSpeed from 32 to 94, desktop PageSpeed from 66 to 99, Semrush from 84 to 98, and Ahrefs from 94 to 100 by resolving internal linking, on-page SEO, duplicate content, redirects, and schema markup issues across all four audit tools.

The Problem

Challenges Faced

AVPTS had a technically troubled website being held back by a wide spread of issues flagged across four audit tools — SiteChecker Pro, Semrush, Ahrefs, and Google PageSpeed Insights. From broken internal links and missing headings to a SiteChecker health score of just 40 and a mobile PageSpeed score of only 32, the site's technical foundation needed a comprehensive overhaul before it could perform in organic search.

SiteChecker Health Score of Just 40/100

SiteChecker Pro flagged widespread critical issues across internal linking, on-page SEO, duplicate content, canonicals, redirect structure, HTML validation, mobile configuration, and sitemap quality — dragging the overall site health score down to just 40 out of 100.

Mobile PageSpeed of 32 & Desktop of 66

Google PageSpeed Insights flagged severe performance problems — offscreen images not deferred, Elementor CSS embedded inline, unminified JS/CSS files, and render-blocking resources — resulting in a mobile score of only 32 and a desktop score of just 66, far below competitive benchmarks.

Semrush Score of 84

Semrush reported a site health score of 84, flagging broken JS/CSS files, incorrect sitemap URLs, missing H1 headings, low text-to-HTML pages, unnecessary internal nofollow links, a missing sitemap reference in robots.txt, and broken external links across the website.

Ahrefs at 94, Redirect & Schema Issues

Even at 94, Ahrefs flagged redirect links, internal nofollow links, slow pages, missing image alt text, broken CSS, and sitemap inconsistencies. The XML sitemap contained canonicalized and redirect URLs, Organization schema was missing entirely from the homepage, and duplicate content issues were confusing search engines across service pages.

The Solution

Our Strategy

A multi-tool, issue-by-issue technical SEO approach — systematically resolving every fixable SiteChecker, Semrush, and Ahrefs issue, overhauling page speed on both mobile and desktop, cleaning up the sitemap and redirects, and implementing complete schema markup across the site.

01
Internal Linking, Redirects & On-Page SEO Fixes
  •
Fixed orphan URLs and improved internal linking site-wide, ensuring every important page is properly connected and discoverable by search engines
  •
Removed and corrected internal links pointing to 3xx redirect URLs, eliminating unnecessary redirect chains and restoring internal link equity flow
  •
Fixed trailing-slash URL mismatches, standardized internal link destinations to canonical final URLs, and improved descriptive anchor text across all pages
  •
Added missing H1 headings and meta descriptions, fixed broken heading hierarchy, corrected lowercase title tags, and improved image alt text across all affected pages
  •
Removed unnecessary nofollow attributes from internal links and resolved 18 empty anchor "#" links in the footer by removing orphaned privacy policy text
02
Page Speed Optimization
  •
Deferred offscreen image loading and eliminated render-blocking resources to dramatically improve initial page load on both mobile and desktop
  •
Minified source code, combined and minified CSS and JS files, and moved Elementor CSS from inline embedding to an external file
  •
Installed a WebP conversion plugin to automatically convert all existing and future images to next-gen formats for improved loading performance
  •
Lifted mobile PageSpeed from 32 to 94 and desktop PageSpeed from 66 to 99 — verified via Google's official PageSpeed Insights tool
03
Duplicate Content, Canonicals & Sitemap Cleanup
  •
Fixed identical headings and duplicate alt attributes, corrected canonical URLs pointing to external pages, and ensured all canonicals point to the correct intended URLs
  •
Removed canonicalized URLs and 3xx redirect URLs from the XML sitemap, ensuring only preferred, indexable URLs are submitted to search engines
  •
Added the missing sitemap reference to robots.txt so search engines can efficiently discover and process all canonical URLs
  •
Removed duplicate viewport meta tags from the page head and standardized structured data implementation to eliminate conflicting schema formats
  •
Addressed the XSS security configuration issue and fixed broken heading hierarchy, adding missing caption attributes to tables for HTML validation compliance
04
Schema Markup & Multi-Tool Audit Resolution
  •
Implemented detailed Organization and LocalBusiness schema on the homepage — now passing Google's Rich Results Test cleanly after being completely absent before
  •
Validated existing WebPage schema on the contact page and FAQ schema on the FAQs page — both confirmed passing via schema.org validator
  •
Resolved all remaining Semrush-flagged issues: broken JS/CSS files, incorrect sitemap URLs, missing H1s, nofollow links, and broken external links — lifting Semrush score from 84 to 98
  •
Resolved all Ahrefs-flagged issues: redirect links, slow pages, missing alt text, broken CSS, and sitemap inconsistencies — confirmed via Ahrefs re-crawl, lifting score from 94 to 100
