The Art of Charisma
How our technical SEO audit resolved broken links, metadata, and structured data issues, cleaned up a toxic backlink profile, and recovered lost Google indexing — lifting Semrush Site Health from 82 to 92 and steadily growing the site's indexed footprint.
Visit WebsiteChallenges Faced
The Art of Charisma had a growing library of coaching content, but a stack of unresolved technical SEO issues was holding the site back from its full search potential. A Semrush audit surfaced broken internal links, missing metadata, and heading structure problems, while a mix of toxic backlinks and Google Search Console indexing gaps meant a large share of the site's pages weren't earning their place in Google's index.
Semrush Site Health Score of 82/100
The Semrush technical audit flagged broken internal links, missing metadata, heading structure issues, redirect problems, crawlability gaps, sitemap misconfiguration, and structured data errors — pulling the site's overall technical health well below its potential.
Toxic Backlinks Flagged by Semrush & GSC
Cross-referencing the Semrush backlink audit with the Links section of Google Search Console revealed a set of toxic, low-quality backlinks pointing at the domain — links that needed to be identified and disavowed before they could keep eroding search trust.
Only 65 of 95 Sitemap URLs Indexed
Google Search Console reported 85 known URLs on the site, but the XML sitemap held 95 URLs in total — with only 65 already indexed. The remaining pages sat outside the index, alongside a spread of 404, redirect, and query-string URLs that shouldn't be indexed at all.
Structured Data & Indexing Exclusions
Organization schema errors were failing Google's Rich Results Test, while GSC reported a spread of indexing exclusions — 404s, noindex pages, 403 forbidden resources, other 4xx errors, and "crawled – currently not indexed" pages — each needing its own diagnosis and fix.
Our Strategy
A structured, issue-by-issue technical SEO approach — resolve the Semrush audit backlog, clean the backlink profile, and work through every Google Search Console indexing exclusion until the site was crawling and indexing the way it should.
- Resolved every broken internal link, missing metadata field, and H1/heading structure issue flagged in the audit
- Optimised redirects, corrected orphan pages, and rebuilt internal linking so every page could be crawled and reached
- Fixed accessibility issues including missing anchor text and inconsistent H1 usage across templates
- Improved page speed and optimised JavaScript/CSS delivery, lifting Semrush Site Health from 82 to 92
- Checked every backlink from the Semrush backlink audit and the GSC Links section against the live link profile
- Compiled a detailed audit sheet documenting each backlink, its source, and its toxicity status
- Disavowed confirmed toxic domains directly through the Google Disavow Tool
- Kept the disavow list conservative, protecting healthy referring domains while removing genuine risk
- Diagnosed and resolved the reported 404 error by removing internal links to the broken URL and adding a proper redirect
- Reviewed "noindex" exclusions, removing unnecessary /feed URLs from the source code while correctly keeping non-important feeds noindexed
- Confirmed the 403-blocked internal file manager and the JavaScript-driven 4xx URL should remain restricted, avoiding unnecessary exposure
- Reviewed all 16 "crawled – currently not indexed" URLs, submitted the 10 valid pages for indexing, and optimised the sitemap and robots.txt to protect crawl budget
- Corrected Organization schema errors so the homepage now passes Google's Rich Results Test cleanly
- Reviewed the 18 URLs flagged for "video isn't on a page" and identified placement changes needed for video-first indexing
- Submitted the sitemap fresh in Google Search Console and tracked indexing progress against a documented baseline
- Indexed URLs climbed from 65 to 93 within days of the fixes going live, with ongoing requests submitted for the remainder

Before & After
Semrush Site Audit, backlink disavow, and Google Search Console indexing improvements after our technical SEO work.

"We knew our rankings weren't where they should be, but we didn't realise how much of it came down to technical issues under the hood. The team worked through the Semrush audit, cleaned up our backlink profile, and chased down every indexing gap in Search Console. Our Site Health score, backlink profile, and indexed pages have all improved — and we finally understand what's happening with our site."
